Hi Y’all,

Saturday I raced a 5K in lelystad, A little town in the middle of Holland. I was pretty nervous, cause my runs weren’t good all week and my legs were hurting like hell. When we started of the race, I was the first girl for the whole 3 miles. But this chick was right behind me the whole time, she was right on top of me and I could not get rid of her. when I went faster, she went faster, when I went slower, she went slower  AAAA!! so the last 100 meters she just sprinted, I tried to keep up but just didn;t have the energy anymore. I finished 4 seconds after her. It was a good race, I PRed with 22:04. :D

I used to love sundays, that one day off from running and work. Now I don’t know what to do with myself on sundays. I miss my run! I was visiting my grandparents and on the way there I kept on seeing cool places to run, AM I ADDICTED? I think so, but at least I’m addicted to something healthy lol

this morning i ran 9 miles, i ran it slower than usual cause i didn;t sleep very well, but it was a great run, I raced some bikes on the way too. I also saw a couple running together and I wanted to beat them, but as I got closer, they stopped running and started walking.. there went my competition lol

today was my 9 mile long run, I got up at 5am to eat and then went back to sleep and got up at 7:15 to go running. I always always run with my mp3 player and honestly cannot live without it. When I was about 7 minutes into my run, the batteries from mp3 player died. so I had to go on for another hour without it… I dreaded it, but it wasn’t bad at all. Now I actually noticed things that happend around me. From now on I’m gonna run without headphones more often Oh and I ran a PR, 1:14:29

this morning I planned on doing a 5K.  Me and my dad drove about a half hour trying to find the race, it started at 11 and at 11;15 we saw people running so we knew we were close. When I got there I decided to do the 10K that started at 12.

The whole race, one woman was in front of me, and half of the race I was the second girl. then suddenlt I look next to me and a woman was trying to pass me, no way that was gonna happen. I sped up and was thinking that I’d rater collapse than let her beat me. We were competing for about 2 miles. together we passed a lot of men, then we came to the woman in first place, she looked behind and saw us, so she started running faster. I stayed right behind her, when a looked back I saw the other girl had given up. I ended up second place with only a couple seconds difference.

I’m Sam, I live in the Netherlands.  Last year I was an exchange student in Texas. It was the best year of my life. I was introduced to cross country, was the last on the team and in the beginning, absolutely hated it. After training really hard I started improving. My first 2 mile time was 18:40 and by the end of the year it was 14:48.

it has always been my dream to become an american, so I’m training for a scholarship in college, i had to go back to holland first, because my visa ended. plus I’ll never get a scholarship with a 14;48 2 mile, lol. Now I have a year to get down to a 12minute 2 mile time. that will get me a full ride. It’s been 3 months now and I’m down to 13:32.  besides training the whole year I have a full time job as a waitress.
